Eric Stach, Ph.D
CHIEF SCIENTIST
Professor Stach is one of the founders, co-owners and technical leaders of the company. In this role, he helps to set technical direction and strategy. He is also a Full Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Material Science and Engineering. His research group page can be accessed here. His research interests focus on the development and application of electron microscopy techniques to solve materials problems in catalysis, energy storage, thin film and nanostructure growth, and materials deformation. Daan Hein Alsem, Ph.D
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING
Dr. Alsem is the Director of Research and Engineering at Hummingbird Scientific. He has two decades worth of research and development experience with in-situ and analytical transmission electron microscopy, electron microscopy-centered experimentation, and microscopy methods and hardware development. After acquiring his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, Dr. Alsem worked at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s National Center of Electron Microscopy.
